Arizona Trip

WOW! We had such an awesome week last week, thanks to my fam for such an awesome vacation! Hudson flew on his first airplane ride, and he did so amazing! We flew in the evening to Pheonix and I was able to fly with my mom so she could help me get everything to the gate and all that. I was nervous about the timing so we showed up pretty early and had a lot of wait time at our gate, but I would rather be early than late so it turned out ok :) Hudson drank his bottle as we took off, played with toys as we were in the air, and then fell asleep as we descended. He was such a sweet angel and didn't cry one bit. Everyone sitting around us seemed pretty surprised that he didn't cry. It was awesome. When we got to AZ it was 80 at 5:30 pm, I was so so so excited because I had just left UT where it was snowing and freezing. We had so much fun being with all my cousins, my sisters and brothers, and Hudson's cousins Tyler and Hannah. We went to a fun dinosaur museum where my brother surprised us for April Fool's, and Hudson slept the entire way through that. We had so much fun playing a little Wii Dance, one of my new favorite games, I have been looking for it at Game Stop used, so hopefully it will show up one of these days :) We hung out with my cousins, saw the wonderful Easter pageant at the Mesa Temple. I ended up rocking and walking with Hudson for an hour and a half, but I was able to hear the pageant from where I was walking by the pool in front of the temple. I sure do love the Mesa Temple, it is so beautiful, and the landscaping is always so beautiful. On Saturday we listened to conference as we got ready for my mom's side of the family annual Easter picnic, I made some deviled eggs and we went to the picnic and that was a lot of fun. Congrats to Linda and Rex for winning the egg toss, Jayson and I will be there next year looking to take that trophy from ya :) And then after the picnic my mom, Ben, Katie, Hudson, and I headed home. We stayed in Kanab on the way home in this crazy dirty hotel...but it was ok for the night :) And then we got back to my mom's in the afternoon and started throwing together an Easter dinner for Linda, Rex, my Grandpa Stan, my mom, Ben, Katie, Hudson and I. My mom did a great job putting it all together in a short amount of time. And I was so proud of myself, I threw together some completely made from scratch rolls, which I have never done before so that was pretty cool! We really missed Jayson on our trip, and I colored some eggs that said, "we miss you, love you" and sent the picture to him. I am so grateful for such an amazing husband who works so hard for our family, and is such a great person. It has been hard with him away, but hopefully it won't become a regular thing. He is looking to come home any day now, we are just waiting for the weather in WY to clear up so they can drive on the roads. I can't wait until he comes home!
A few things I forgot to mention about AZ- we were able to enjoy some fruit (grapefruit and oranges) right off the tree in my aunt's backyard, they were so amazing! It makes me sad that we don't have stuff like that around here...but it was good to enjoy it. I know I added a picture of Hannah in Hudson's carseat, haha, it was so hilarious...my cousin Kelly was holding Hudson but I heard his toys start playing music in his carseat and I looked over and there Hannah was just playing away. After the Easter picnic we were able to go see my sweet great grandmother's (we called her Nanny) grave. It was such a special moment, I hadn't been there since she died when I was younger, and it was good to see it and remember some sweet memories I have with her. She was such a special lady, and I have felt her spirit with me so many times.
I was so sad to come home to so much snow! My garbage can was tipped over and just full of snow, it took all my strength to get it back up and out from the street. Also, I had to lug all my stuff in from our long trip and it took me 20 trips in snow past my ankles, and when I got home I was in my flip flops and my feet were freezing! I ran in and put my boots on and ran back out to get Hudson, I almost fell a couple of times carrying him in because of the drifts but luckily I made it in!
Well....I think that was all I wanted to post about, the pictures are all out of order, but here they are....hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

New pics of my sweet baby!

Jayson and I bought our first big furniture item together last weekend at IKEA, and can I just say I LOVE LOVE that store. I love the restaurant, and I love their prices and the quality of the items. We got some new lamps and other fun stuff and we bought this couch. We had been looking for a new couch for awhile, and we couldn't really decide. So I went and looked at IKEA before Jayson came and I loved this one. It pulls out to a full size bed, it has storage under the chaise thing. And it is something we hope will last for awhile, we really loved the idea of getting some leather furniture, but living in the trailer means we have limited space....so here is our space saver couch for a temporary solution to our couch problem. :)

Here are some pictures of Hudson, and our weekend at my mom's house. Hudson is getting so big so fast. He is already sitting up mostly by himself, he can't really even sit in his bouncer anymore because he sits forward too far and can't balance well in it so he falls forward. He has started eating some cereal. I am mostly just letting him taste it, I'm ok with going slow so he can get used to it and his body can grow big enough so he can take it. He is still in 3-6 months clothes but I'm not sure that will last very much longer. I am still LOVING the cloth diapers we chose, the GroBaby system is wonderful. They are easily washed, and they come out looking brand new even after the dirtiest changes haha. And Hudson's skin is also improving with using the cloth diapers, before I think the disposables were irritating his sensitive skin that he got from both his mommy and daddy.

Jayson finally came home from WY last week, and he was able to come straight to my mom's house. We had so much fun hanging out with our friends the Kummer's at Cabelas and then lunch at IN N OUT! We love IN N OUT...I could eat there every day I think :) Here is a pic of their little boy Jacob, Hudson and Jacob were so cute together. Jacob loved to grabbed on to Hudson's hair, and they loved to hold hands it was super cute. We also went to the Jazz game because Jayson's little brother (and 4 other kids) won the Spirit of the Sport award, and they were given the award during half time with all the All State athletes so we had a lot of fun going to the game, and it was really nice to have a date just Jayson and I :)

These are a few pictures from my trip to Colorado to visit my sister, I had so much fun visiting them and I can't wait to see them again soon!

Killer Goat AKA Goat from hell!

To give a little background on this story, a week or 2 ago I had gone for a run in the morning and Jayson was up with Hudson. As I came down our street on the last part of my run this big dog came out of no where and started barking. I freaked out and started sprinting (which is NOT as fast as I once was haha, this was my first "run" since having Hudson) and called Jayson on my phone. He came running out of the house and said he couldn't even see the dog. I turned around and the dog had stopped running a ways back. haha, I felt so dumb for being freaked out, but this dog was pretty big. So after that I told Jayson I was not going to be going outside for awhile. THEN, today I figured, I had been inside all day, it was SO beautiful, so I got Hudson all bundled up to go for a walk. So, our walk went so well, until we got back to our front yard. This goat was behind my car where I couldn't see him and when I walked in front of it to get in through our gate he butted me right in the leg!! I yelled and freaked out and kicked it right in the head. It ran off like 15 feet so I ran inside our yard and shut the gate. And then I speed walked to our front door and that stupid goat ran through our fence! I grabbed Hudson and ran inside and slammed the door. Then I hear a thump on the door, that stupid goat was butting my door! Then he put his front hooves up on the door and was almost "standing" on the door. I was totally freaked out. At this point I realize my phone is still in the stroller. I am crying, thinking "this freakin goat is trying to get in my house!" Well, I go and grab the BB gun, and at this point the goat has moved away from the door and is just in the yard. So I shoot it right in the butt and all it does is run at the door again, so I shut it quick and it starts butting the door! I sit in front of the door because I am not sure what else to do, and the handle starts shaking. THAT DANG GOAT has figured out how to put its head on the handle and it looks like it is trying to open my front door! At this point I am in disbelief. The goat then tries to get back out of the yard, but can't. So it ran in the back yard and I figured I had to get my phone quick. I grab the phone and here it comes around the house running. So I run back inside and shut the door. Here it goes again butting the door. Again, I'm in disbelief. I call Jayson in hysterics not sure what to do. He says he is going to call the police, but who knows how long that could take them to come here in town...So I call my rescuing mother in law :) Jeanie runs down with some ammonia and a golf club and sprays it and hits it. But that tough bugger wasn't really scared of either of us. haha, it was a crazy goat. I'm sad now that I didn't get it on film or that I didn't get a picture. So, I'm going to have to invest in a treadmill because apparently me and the outside do not mix. Thanks to Jeanie for coming to rescue me!
On a better note, Hudson's 4 month appointment was yesterday, he is growing wonderfully. He is in the 25th percentile for his weight at 14 pounds, in the 80th percentile for his heighth at 25 inches. So we have a tall drink of water on his hands. The dr said since he is sitting up so well we can try solids so tonight he had his first taste of organic (of course!) rice cereal. I just let him taste a little and he loved it. So then I added it to his bottle and he sucked it right down. I probably will only let him taste it probably for another few weeks, and then try to get him to eat more of it. I know his little body is still growing and we need to take it slow. He also did so well for his shots. Cried out a little but other than that just all smiles. Then he got a little fussy before bed last night so I gave him a little tylenol and it was great after that. He is my tough boy thats for sure! I love watching him grow and learn so much. Well, I hope no one else was attcked by any crazed farm animals today haha, and I hope everyone has a wonderful week. AND HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY tomorrow and happy 13th birthday to my little brother Bennihanna! We love you Ben! And a little shout out to my baba who works so hard for our family, and it sucks with him being out of town but I am so grateful for our eternal relationship and the wonderful husband he is. Love you baba!

Cute bum...where ya from!? :)

This week I am at my mom's helping her out while she is at a conference in St. George. I am taking care of my younger siblings and so far we are having a pretty good time :) Jayson is gone working again....and it really stinks because now he is on night shift and I don't get to talk to him very much. :( But I am grateful for the time I do get to talk to him.
I tried uploading a bunch of pictures from my new camera!! YAY!! :) But blogger seems to be having some issues uploading them so I only have 2 on here. I love my new camera, it's awesome.
Well, I just thought I would post something real quick, maybe I will try to post the rest of the pictures later!

I have recently switched Hudson to cloth diapers and let me tell you....HEAVENLY!! I love that they are so cute nowadays...no more folding and pinning mommas! I use the Grobaby diapers which are just amazing. AMAZING!! They have a snap in liner, and outer shells. I take out the liner when its wet/dirty and change the outer shell twice a day. So wonderful. Saves us a TON of money, is better for the environment, and is super nice on Hudson's cute little bum. I just love them!

Growing up way too fast!

Hudson is growing up way way way too fast. It seems like just yesterday I was in the hospital feeling like he would never come, now we are hitting some milestones that I never imagined coming this fast!
-Hudson has rolled over a few times, the first time was maybe a few weeks ago, and he has only done it for me and my friend Brooke, every time I try to show Jayson Hudson looks around like he doesn't know what he is supposed to do haha.
-Hudson loves grabbing onto his feet when he is laying down, he tries to suck on his toes, so socks have become a must.
-He has also started trying to hold his bottle himself, very independant :)
-He sits up almost by himself, I just have to balance him but he holds his head on his own
-Hudson also stands really well when I put him in his jumparoo or if I just hold him on my lap, that is one of his favorite ways to play
-toys have taken on a whole new meaning, they are fun and interesting and he loves looking at each one, studying it for a long time. He doesn't really like it if I shake it in front of him, he more likes it just be held still so he can just look at it
-I really have been so blessed because Hudson has been sleeping through the night since we was about a month old, and he still continues to do so well, he goes to bed around 6 and sleeps until 6 or so. It is really nice :)
-He has been taking out his binky and stuffing his entire fist in his mouth, and sometimes he gets his fingers a little too far down his throat haha, but I tell him that's what he gets for sucking his fingers :) I am trying to keep the binky in there more often than his fingers, but once I put it in he just takes it out and puts his fingers back in :)
-Hudson watches the "your baby can read" DVDs and I swear something is starting to sink in. Whether it is memorized, or he is getting it he reacts to certain words they say with the actions, like "arms up" "arms down" and "clap" so hey :) my baby can (kind of) read haha
-He loves his daddy, when Jayson comes home at night Hudson has a few special moments where he and Jayson just crack up, I'm not kidding, he full on cracks up at Jayson just smiling at him, it must be a daddy thing. :)
Well I can't believe how fast my sweet little son is growing, he is such a blessing in our life. I am so grateful to be a mom, and the joys it has brought. :) Hudson's 4 month appointment is next week and I can't wait to see how much he has grown!
Also, I still don't have my camera, so no pictures of anything lately. We haven't done anything too fun so that's good :) Except I made homemade fried ice cream the other day, it was so so so good! I will never get it from a restaurant again. :) Hope everyone has a great week!

Road Trip

While I was at my sister's in Colorado I cut my hair, and my sister took Hudson and my niece to run some errands while I got it done. Well, Hudson had a pretty nasty smelling diaper, but I had forgotten to bring any from the huge box I brought with me to my sisters house. So, I didn't want to buy any new diapers. We went to pick up my nephew from his school and the smell was overwhelming by now. So, I looked through my bag for one last hope of finding something, and I had a bunch of pads in there, and I thought to myself, hey, they are absorbant right? hahahaha, So i wrapped Hudson in a homemade pad diaper until we got to my sisters. The pad's didn't hold up very well haha, but it made for a good story right? :)

I had a wonderful trip to my sister's in Colorado. I left my camera there on accident so all I have are the pictures I took on my phone, sorry they aren't the best quality. It was so good to hang out with my sister and my niece and nephew who just love Hudson so much. I got to do a little shopping, and randomly I cut off my hair! :) Hudson had been grabbing it for awhile now, and I was never having time to do it, so I cut it. It's a little bit shorter than I expected it would be, but it is so much easier now and I love it! Things are good around here. Hudson is growing way too fast, and luckily Jayson will be coming home every night this week so we are definitely looking forward to having dinner together again after a month and a half of not. Hope everyone has a good week!

On the road again...

Well today Hudson and I are starting our big fun road trip! Tonight we are going to Rawlins, WY to see Jayson. He has been working there for a few weeks, and still has a few weeks left so it will be nice to see him for one night :) Then tomorrow I am going to back to my hometown Green River WY for my best friend's farewell. She is going to Minnesota and I'm so proud of her! I am excited to go back to my "home ward" which I have always considered my home ward, and I will always consider Green River my home :) I miss that place a lot. After her farewell Hudson and I are headed to Loveland, CO to my grandparents house where we are meeting my sister and her kids. After that I will be at my sister's for the week!! YAY!! I am way excited to go on a little vacation and see my sister and her kids. We miss them a lot so it will be good to see them. Well, see ya'll in a week!! :)

Just a little bit more

I had a good weekend at my mom's this last weekend. I ran down there to borrow a DVD player to send to Jayson because he gets a little bit bored while he is working such long hours. I ended up staying the entire weekend and I had a lot of fun shopping with my mom and little sister and eating at this Chilean restaurant in Provo with my brother. Anthony suggested this restaurant and it was delicious!! Chilean food is amazing, and the owners were so cute. It was just this couple and they cook, serve, and do everything! They are super friendly and I am definitely taking Jayson there sometime.
The next post down is some pictures of Hudson, our tiny visit with Jayson last week, and there are also some videos of Hudson laughing. Don't mind my voice in the background. I was trying to get Hudson to laugh one day and I started talking like Darth Vadar (sp) and making the noise from his helmet or whatever, and it just cracked Hudson right up. So make sure to check out the videos!! :)

The best baby ever!

Now if you know me really well you know that I twirl my hair when I sleep, and I have since I was a tiny baby. I used to twist big huge knots in my hair, it would drive my mom crazy! I still can't break the habit, it's a huge comfort thing to me. I finally got photo proof of Hudson twirling his hair just like his mom does!! :) haha, it is the cutest thing. Jayson has been gone the past 2 weeks working in WY, but last week he got to come home for one day, it was about 14 hours before he had to go back and he couldn't believe how big Hudson had gotten. He loved making him laugh and he definitely had some daddy son snuggle time which was so sweet. Hudson and I miss Jayson a lot, but I am so grateful that he works so hard for our little family. He will probably be gone atleast another 2 weeks if not longer. Thanks baba for working so hard! Hud and I love you! Sometimes I put the phone on speaker and Hudson enjoys talking to his daddy! :) Hudson really is chatting all the time now. He is always happy and smiling and laughing. I love it! Here are a bunch of pictures of my sweet little boy!
